Romania: Traditional regions vs modern ones
Romania is vast with a variety of landscapes and road conditions which makes for long journeys if travelling by car, bus and even train. Having said that, there is much to see within a region. I have divided my blogging stories by general geographical region (north, south, western, coastal (east) and in the middle is Transylvania) and leaving a special tag for Bucharest. The map below also references the traditional regions for historical purposes. Because the use of “județ” (see administrative counties map below) is more useful to find specific touristic information, I have used them as categories. Hopefully it could be helpful to find “little gems” or special places in someone’s exploration of Romania.
